Man Arrested for Illegal Possession of Firearm in Jaripatka
Nagpur, India: On August 17, 2024, at approximately 4:00 AM, a routine police patrol in the Jaripatka area of Nagpur intercepted a suspicious Activa vehicle near Chandni Bar. The rider, identified as Ankush Jhank Tomasakar, 27, from Samta Nagar, Jaripatka, attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended by the officers.
Upon searching Tomasakar, the police discovered an illegal domestically-made pistol valued at ₹20,000. Additionally, a mobile phone and the Activa vehicle were seized, bringing the total value of the confiscated items to approximately ₹80,000.
Tomasakar has been charged under Section 3/25 of the Arms Act and Section 135 of the Bombay Police Act. He is now in custody as the investigation continues.
This operation was conducted under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Jaripatka Division), with officers Arun Kshir Sagar, Jangilwad, and their team leading the successful apprehension.
