Man Arrested for Killing Brother in Hingna Following Family Dispute
Nagpur, India: In a tragic incident, the Hingna Police have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly killing his elder brother during a heated family dispute. The incident took place on September 2, 2024, between 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM in the Mandav Ghorad area, Ward No. 2, Hingna, Nagpur.
According to the police, the accused, Govind Vinayak Chaikhe, attacked his 36-year-old elder brother, Kisan Vinayak Chaikhe, after a domestic argument escalated. The dispute reportedly started when Kisan verbally abused the wife of their younger brother. In a fit of rage, Govind physically assaulted Kisan, delivering blows to his chest, stomach, head, and back, which ultimately led to Kisan's death.
The case was initially registered as an accidental death at the Hingna Police Station. However, further investigation revealed that Kisan's death was the result of the assault. Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s mother, Prabha Vinayak Chaikhe, the police have charged Govind under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and placed him under arrest.
The police are continuing their investigation to gather more details about the incident.
