Man Arrested in Pachpaoli for Attempted Murder After Being Told to Stop Drinking
Nagpur, India: An attempt to murder incident took place near Takshashila Buddha Vihara in Pachpaoli on Monday. The victim, Umesh Ramesh Chikate (37), advised his neighbor, Tushar alias Bhendi Anup Khote (21), to stop consuming intoxicants and take care of his parents. This enraged Tushar, leading to a violent altercation between them.
According to the police report, after the heated argument, Tushar, along with his accomplice, Anshu (19), left and returned armed. Tushar carried a metal sickle, while Anshu wielded an axe. Anshu attempted to strike Umesh but missed. Tushar then attacked Umesh from behind with the sickle, inflicting a serious injury behind his left ear.
Umesh was immediately taken to Mayo Hospital, where he is receiving treatment for his injuries. Based on Umesh's statement, the Pachpaoli police have registered a case under sections 109, 307, and 34 of the IPC, along with relevant sections of the Arms Act.
Tushar has been arrested, and further investigations are ongoing.
