Man Murders Wife and Commits Suicide, Leaving Community in Shock

On the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, a shocking incident unfolded in MOIL Colony, under the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station in Nagpur. A man brutally murdered his wife before taking his own life at their residence. The spine-chilling event, involving a fatal blow with a hammer, has left the residents in a state of shock and grief. The deceased individuals have been identified as Rajesh Khemraj Mandale and his wife Sonia.
Rajesh, who had been battling cancer for the past four years, was employed with a private company, while Sonia worked as a laboratory assistant at MOIL. The couple had a 14-year-old daughter named Vaishnavi, who was present in the house at the time of the incident, which occurred on Saturday night.
According to the police, Rajesh had divorced 15 years ago and later remarried Sonia. However, in recent months, Rajesh had reportedly developed suspicions about Sonia's loyalty, leading to frequent arguments between the couple. Unfortunately, these disputes reached a tragic climax on Saturday night.
During a heated argument between Rajesh and Sonia, the situation turned into violence. Rajesh allegedly struck Sonia on the head with a hammer, inflicting fatal injuries. Sonia fell to the ground in a pool of blood and eventually succumbed to her wounds. Distraught by his actions, Rajesh then took his own life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan.
On Sunday morning, Vaishnavi, who was sleeping in her room, discovered the horrifying scene. Shocked and traumatized, she managed to inform her uncle, Amit Yadav, who promptly alerted the police. DCP Zone II Rahul Madane, along with Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Mendhe and PI Kishore Parvate, arrived at the crime scene to initiate the investigation.
Post-mortem examinations were conducted at Mayo Hospital. The Sadar Police have registered a case of murder and accidental death and have launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to this tragic event. It was revealed that Rajesh had been suspecting Sonia of having an extramarital affair.
In a suicide note left behind, Rajesh mentioned his suspicions and wrote, "She did not wait until my death." Additionally, he provided detailed information about the house registry and outstanding debts owed by him. The police will delve into these details as part of their investigation to uncover any underlying factors that may have contributed to this devastating incident.
