Men have fewer people to lean on for emotional support, know why

Support on an emotional level indicates that you are not alone. To go through difficult situations, one may need consolation, attention, and empathy. Whether it's someone listening to you complain or giving you advise, emotional support is that comforting presence that helps you feel understood and less alone.

Support of this kind can come from a variety of people, including family, friends, and coworkers. They are the network of emotional support. Whom you turn to for emotional support is crucial if you want to be understood and have your overwhelming feelings supported.

However, according to a research in Psychology & Aging, men's networks of emotional support diminish with age. Between the ages of 30 and 90, networks of emotional support decreased by 50%.

According to the study, men's networks of emotional support steadily deteriorate as they get older. Men might seek solace and guidance from two sources when they are thirty years old.

This number had dropped to only one by the age of 90. This 50% decrease in support providers reflects a widespread pattern in which people become less dependent on others for emotional assistance as they get older.

Childhood and other early life experiences have a significant impact on how one develops their later emotional support systems. According to the study, males who had supportive connections with their parents and grew up in loving, caring home settings were more likely to have wider networks of emotional support as adults.
