MIDC Police Station: Arrest Made for Possession of a Deadly Weapon
Nagpur, India: On the night of August 11, 2024, the MIDC Police arrested a man in Rajiv Nagar for possession of a deadly weapon. The incident occurred around 11:10 PM when a police patrol team noticed the man behaving suspiciously near Bahujan Nagar Road, beside Zenda Chowk.
As the officers approached, the man attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended by the police. During a search, the police found a sharp iron sickle in his possession.
The man identified himself as Wasim alias Sonu Rafiq Khan, 25, a resident of Kartik Nagar, Pahadi, Hingna Road, MIDC, Nagpur. Since he was found with a deadly weapon in violation of prohibitory orders, Sub-Inspector Mohite of MIDC Police Station registered a case against him under Section 4/25 of the Indian Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. The accused has been arrested, and further investigations are ongoing.
