MoUs Worth Rs 1,600 Crore Signed to Build Taj, Hilton, and Hyatt Hotels in Nagpur

Nagpur is set to welcome three luxury hotels — Taj Gateway, Hilton, and Hyatt — as Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed on Thursday. These projects are part of the Rs 6,100 crore investment proposed by over 150 companies for various projects in the district.

The three hotel projects will see a total investment of Rs 875 crore, with:

  • Rs 400 crore for Taj Gateway
  • Rs 300 crore for Hyatt
  • Rs 175 crore for Hilton

The MoU for Taj Gateway is separate from the one signed by Indian Hotels Limited (Tata Group) last month in Mumbai. That agreement was for the construction of the prestigious Taj Mahal Hotel, the top-tier brand of the Tata Group.

Apart from these three projects, proposals for building four more hotels by other companies were also submitted.

The MoU signing took place in the presence of Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari. Gajendra Bharti, Joint Director of Industries, stated that these are fresh investment proposals. “The investments range from MSMEs to large industries, with some focusing on the expansion of existing facilities as well,” he added.

The state government has assured single-window clearance to ensure smooth progress for these projects. Similar MoU signing events are planned for other districts in the region, starting next month.

These upcoming developments are expected to enhance Nagpur’s hospitality sector and create numerous job opportunities.
