MSETCL Cable Work Causes Further Delays for Ambazari Bridge in Nagpur

Nagpur, India: The completion of the Ambazari bridge project has been delayed again, this time due to cable shifting work by Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MSETCL). While the bridge widening is done, the approach road remains incomplete.
According to the Public Works Department (PWD), seven out of eight approach road sections have been concreted. However, work on the last patch is on hold until MSETCL finishes shifting its cables. Officials say MSETCL has requested time until February 28 to complete the process.
Once the cable work is done, it will take around eight days to complete the final patch, followed by 28 days for curing. PWD aims to finish the work by March 31.
MSETCL executive engineer Nitin Angaitkar confirmed that their cables were damaged during the bridge widening and need to be relocated. "We have to build two joint bays on either side of the bridge before shifting the cables. We have asked PWD to wait until February 28," he said.
Authorities hope to complete the project soon, providing relief to commuters facing traffic congestion in the area.
