Mystery in Khapa: Two Families Claim Body Recovered from Kanhan River
Nagpur, India: In a strange case that has puzzled the Khapa Police, two families are claiming the body of a middle-aged man found in the Kanhan River at Dongeghat, Rangaripura. The body, discovered on Wednesday morning, showed signs of injury, but the man's identity has not yet been confirmed.
The discovery of the body has caused a stir in Khapa and nearby areas. After being pulled from the river, the body was sent to the Government Medical College & Hospital, Nagpur, for a post-mortem examination by a police team led by PSO Vishal Giri.
As news of the body spread, two families came forward, each believing the deceased to be their missing relative. Both families were allowed to view the body, and surprisingly, both claimed it as their own, further complicating the situation for the police.
Faced with this unusual dilemma, the police decided to conduct a DNA test to determine the rightful claim. DNA samples from both families will be compared with those of the deceased to accurately establish his identity.
The Khapa Police have stated that the body will only be released for the last rites after the DNA test results are available and the identity is confirmed. Meanwhile, the investigation is being led by PSI Sachin Jamgam and ASI Pramod Bansod, under the supervision of PSO Giri.
