Nagpur Burglary Arrest: Cash and Jewelry Worth Rs 23 Lakh Recovered
Nagpur, India: City police have arrested a suspect in connection with a burglary case that happened between August 18 and August 19, 2024. The victim, 85-year-old Purushottam Ramchandra Bhedarkar, had gone to Goa with his family, leaving his house locked in Vikas Nagar, Dantoli. When his driver checked the house, he found the lock and latch broken. Thieves had stolen Rs 10 lakh in cash and jewelry worth about Rs 13 lakh.
The Crime Branch Unit 3, acting on reliable information, arrested 25-year-old Satish Ratanlal Gaur from Jyoti Nagar, Nagpur. Gaur admitted to the burglary and also confessed to other similar crimes in nearby areas.
Gaur is now in custody with the Dantoli police for further investigation. The operation was conducted under the guidance of senior police officials, with the Crime Branch Unit 3 team leading the investigation.
