Nagpur Café Owner Shot Dead by Goon to Avenge Brother’s Murder

Nagpur, India: A café owner in Nagpur was shot dead late Monday night in a shocking act of revenge. The attacker, Bunty Hiranwar, is a known criminal who had been ordered to stay out of the city. Police believe he killed the café owner, Avinash Bhusari, to take revenge for his brother’s murder that happened over three months ago.

Avinash Bhusari, 28, ran a hookah café named Shosha Café, located between Ramnagar Square and Laxmi Bhavan Square. Around 1 am on Monday night, he was eating ice gola near a private bank with a friend after closing his café. That’s when Bunty and three others arrived on a motorcycle. After confirming Avinash’s location, they fired six bullets — four of which hit Avinash in the head and neck.

Avinash was rushed to a hospital in Shankar Nagar, but he died during treatment.

Police have arrested two men so far — Shashikant Shendre and Siddhant Bhardwaj. Other accused include Ritik Hiranwar, Shakti Yadav, Monu Kalsarpe, Babu Hiranwar, a youth named Sidhu, and a few others with criminal records.

The murder is linked to an earlier case. On 2 January, Bunty’s brother, Pawan Hiranwar, was shot dead by the Shekhu gang in Babulkheda near Saoner. Bunty survived that attack and had been planning to take revenge since then. Even though he was not allowed in the city, Bunty stayed active in the area and got a pistol with help from his family.

Police say Bunty had been watching Avinash for weeks, believing he was connected to the Shekhu gang. He was seen in places like Dharampeth, Sitabuldi, and Pandhrabodi.

A few days before the murder, Avinash had received threats from Bunty’s gang. His friends advised him to go to the police, but he didn’t take the threats seriously.

Police are now searching for Bunty and the others who are still missing. The investigation is ongoing.
