Nagpur champ wins Gold Medals for India at the Asian Games 2023

The mixed team compound event at the Asian Games 2023 was won by the Indian team of Ojas Deotale and Jyothi Surekha Vennam, giving India its first-ever gold in archery. With this gold, India surpassed its previous record medal total of 70 medals from the Asian Games 2018 to achieve 71 medals and counting.
The No. 1 Indian pair and No. 2 Korean pair competed in the Mixed Team Compound event for the gold medal at the Asian Games 2023. In an almost flawless competition, Surekha and Ojas defeated So Chaewon and Joo Jaehoon 159-158.
The Indian team put up two straight 159-point performances, defeating Adel Zhexenbinova and Andrey Tyutyun of Kazakhstan 159-154 to go to the final. Additionally, in the quarterfinal, the top-seeded Indian pair upset Malaysia 158-155.
