Nagpur City Police's Action Under Prohibition, Gambling, Drunk Driving
Nagpur, India: On August 11, 2024, Nagpur City Police conducted varioius operations targeting violations under the Maharashtra Prohibition Act, the NDPS Act, and traffic regulations. These efforts led to significant actions against offenders across the city.
Police registered 6 cases under the Maharashtra Prohibition Act and 1 case under the NDPS Act, resulting in action against 7 individuals. Goods worth Rs. 6,086/- were seized during these operations. Additionally, the police took action under the Gambling Act, seizing Rs. 1,770/- worth of goods from one individual.
The Traffic Branch Police cracked down on traffic violators, taking action against 2,537 drivers under various sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. A total of Rs. 1,87,950/- was collected in fines during the operation.
These coordinated efforts by Nagpur City Police are part of an ongoing campaign to enforce the law and ensure public safety. The police have also urged citizens to adhere to traffic rules and to carry all necessary vehicle documents while driving.
