Nagpur Confirms India-Australia T20 Match on December 1 in Home Season 2023-24
After missing out on a World Cup (50-overs) match, the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) has been granted the opportunity to host a high-profile Twenty20 International match between India and Australia on December 1, as part of the Home Season 2023-24, as reported by the media.
The decision came as a result of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) obliging the VCA with the T20 match against Australia, following the BCCI's venue rotation policy. The match in Nagpur will be the fourth in a five-match series scheduled after the quadrennial event concludes.
The upcoming season holds great excitement as the senior men's team is set to participate in a total of 16 international matches, comprising 5 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 8 T20Is. Nagpur's Jamtha Stadium has previously hosted memorable encounters, including a truncated T20 match against the same opponent, where India secured a thrilling victory by six wickets in just 8 overs on September 23, 2022.
Australia had also visited Orange City in February of the same year, where they faced a tough loss in the series-opening Test match, being defeated by an innings and a staggering 132 runs within three days.
Cricket enthusiasts in Nagpur and beyond eagerly await this exciting T20 clash, anticipating a thrilling contest between two tough cricketing nations.
