Nagpur Crime Branch Nabs Trio Involved in Burglaries and Vehicle Theft
In a recent incident, the Crime Branch Unit 1 arrested three suspects involved in multiple burglaries and vehicle thefts. The complainant by Gautam Mohan Khobragade (30), a resident of Wadi, whose house was broken into between July 25-27, 2024, while he was away. The thieves stole Rs 600 in cash and gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 80,100.
Based on his complaint, a case was filed at Wadi Police Station. During their investigation, Crime Branch officers received a tip-off and arrested the prime suspect, Harjitsingh alias Garam Ajabsingh Garewal (32), from Jaripatka, Nagpur. Upon interrogation, Harjitsingh confessed to the crime and revealed two accomplices, Vicky alias Chari Arun Ingle (30) and Amol Ramrao Bodele (34).
Further, the trio was involved in additional burglaries in the Hudkeshwar and Kotwali areas, along with a vehicle theft in Jaripatka. Police recovered stolen items, including gold and silver jewellery, a stolen vehicle (MH 40 D 0216), and a moped (MH 49 BE 3093) used in the crimes, valued at Rs 69,700.
Upon investigation, it was found that Harjitsingh and Vicky were habitual offenders with a history of house burglaries. All three accused, along with the seized items, have been handed over to Wadi Police for further legal action.
The successful operation was conducted under the supervision of Commissioner of Police Ravindra Singhal, Additional Commissioner Sanjay Patil, and DCP Rahul Makanikar, with a team led by PI Suhas Chaudhary. Further investigations are ongoing.
