Nagpur Crime Branch Seized Rs. 12 Lakh MD Drug from Nandanvan
Nagpur, India- The Nagpur Crime Branch’s NDPS squad busted a drug network in the Nandanvan area on Thursday. The police conducted a raid in Gopal Krishna Nagar, resulting in the arrest of one suspect and the seizure of 110 grams and 72 mg of Mephedrone (MD) and other items.
The raid occurred between 1:45 AM and 4:25 AM, targeting a location on a public road near Gopal Krishna Nagar. During the operation, Suraj Pramod Gajbhiye, 34, a resident of Archana Residency, was apprehended. The police seized 110 grams and 72 mg of Mephedrone, with an estimated value of ₹11,07,200. Additionally, officers confiscated a mobile phone worth ₹10,000, a moped valued at ₹50,000, and an electronic scale worth ₹800, bringing the total value of seized items to ₹12,40,000.
The investigation also identified two other suspects: Pankaj Sathavane, from Somwari Quarter, Sakardara, Nagpur, and Abhishek Sahivala. Police are currently pursuing these individuals as part of the ongoing investigation.
The operation was led by Sub-Inspector Siddharth Patil under the guidance of Police Inspector Gajanan Gulhane. The team involved in the raid included Constables Vivek Adhau, Manoj Nevare, Nitin Salunke, Rohit Kale, Subhash Gajbhiye, and Anup Yadav. The arrested suspect and the confiscated items have been handed over to Nandanvan Police Station for further legal action.
