Nagpur Crime Branch Seizes Banned Nylon Manja Worth ₹7 Lakhs

Nagpur,Maharashtra: In a significant operation, the NDPS squad of the Crime Branch intercepted a car during routine patrols under the jurisdiction of Sonegaon Police Station and confiscated a large quantity of prohibited nylon manja. The operation also resulted in the arrest of one individual, identified as Sahil Thackeray.
The authorities seized items valued at approximately ₹7 lakh, which included nylon manja, a mobile phone, and the vehicle used in the transportation. This action forms part of a broader campaign by Nagpur police to eliminate the trade of banned nylon manja, known for its hazardous impact on both human safety and the environment.
Over the past week, police teams from various units across the city have been conducting targeted raids to curb the illegal sale of nylon manja. However, despite strict enforcement, the material continues to be sold covertly, presenting a challenge for law enforcement.
Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any activities involving the sale or use of nylon manja. The Crime Branch has reiterated its commitment to ensuring public safety and eliminating this dangerous material from the city.
