Nagpur Crime Branch Unit No. 2 Uncovers Major Theft Ring
On July 27, 2024, at approximately 7:30 PM, Nagpur City Police received a report of a stolen motorcycle from Mr. Shrikrishna Mahadev Ganthale, 36, a resident of Rajyaganga Housing Society, Umred Road, Hudkeshwar. Mr Ganthale's Hero Honda CD Deluxe (MH 40 JE 4759), valued at ₹10,000, was stolen while parked in front of a liquor shop.
Following the complaint, Hudkeshwar Police Station registered a case under Section 303(2) of the IPC against unknown suspects. The investigation was swiftly taken up by Crime Branch Unit No. 2. Acting on a tip-off and conducting technical analysis, the police apprehended the following individuals:
- Abdul Samad Sayyed alias Ghani Abdul Aziz Sayyed, 29,
- Sheikh Farhan Sheikh Mukhtar, 28,
- Irfan Sheikh Mohammaduddin Sheikh, 30.
All suspects are residents of Khurbi, behind Baba Taj Masjid, Wathoda, Nagpur. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the theft of the motorcycle.
The police recovered various parts of the stolen vehicle, including cut pieces, an electric cutter, and an auto, with a total value of ₹1,20,000. The accused and the seized items have been handed over to Hudkeshwar Police for further legal proceedings.
This successful operation was carried out under the supervision of the Nagpur City Police Commissioner, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime), and other senior officials, including Unit No. 2 officers: Inspector Shubhangi Deshmukh, Sub-Inspector Chamhare, Assistant Inspector Manoj Raut, and Constables Naresh Tumdam, Gajanan Kubade, Pravin Shelke, Kamlesh Ganer, Suresh Telewar, Ashish Dhandare, and Mangala Jadhav.
