Nagpur Customs Destroys 1,340.7 kg of Drugs Worth Rs 19.7 Crore

Nagpur Customs recently burned 1,340.7 kg of drugs worth Rs 19.7 crore in Butibori, Nagpur, as part of their ongoing fight against drug trafficking. This included 1.7 kg of cocaine seized by the Air Intelligence Unit and 1,339 kg of ganja seized by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Nagpur.

The destruction was overseen by Sanjay Kumar, Commissioner of Customs, with Peeyoush Bhati, Chairman of the Drug Disposal Committee, and other officials present. The drugs were burned according to the rules in the NDPS Act, 1985, and the Disposal Manual, 2019, following environmental laws.

This action supports the Union Government’s Zero Tolerance Policy against drugs and aims to send a strong message to drug smugglers.
