Nagpur District Collector Declares School and College Holiday on July 22

Due to the continuous heavy rains battering the region, Nagpur's District Collector, Dr. Vipin Itankar, has declared a holiday for all educational institutions on Monday, July 22, 2024. This closure includes schools, colleges, and coaching classes to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Nagpur has been experiencing relentless heavy rainfall over the past few days, causing significant waterlogging in many areas. The Meteorological Department has predicted further heavy rains, increasing the risk of flooding and making travel hazardous, particularly for school children.

He also advised residents to stay indoors as much as possible and to avoid unnecessary travel. Parents were urged to keep their children safe at home and to refrain from allowing them to engage in outdoor activities.
