Nagpur Faces Water Shortage as NMC Issues Notice to OCW Over Supply Failures
Nagpur, India: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has sent a notice to Orange City Water (OCW) after complaints about poor water supply in the Ashinagar and Mangalwari zones. The NMC asked OCW to explain why they have not been able to provide 24-hour water service, as promised.
The complaint was made by Chandu Lade, the city president of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), who said OCW has failed to deliver proper water supply for the past 13 years. He added that residents in these areas only get water for less than two hours a day, which he described as a serious problem.
OCW provides water to these zones from four areas: Governor House (Sadar), Governor House (Raj Nagar), Gittikhadan, and Gorewada. However, the water supply has not been reliable in these areas, causing daily struggles for the people living there.
NMC has asked OCW to reply within three days, demanding an explanation and action to improve the situation.
