Nagpur Implements Traffic Changes for Ganpati Utsav-2024 in Nagpur

Nagpur, India: With the Ganpati Utsav-2024 set to begin on September 7, the Nagpur Traffic Department has announced traffic changes in the Chitar Oli area, known for its large-scale Ganesh idol production and sales. To address the heavy vehicle and prevent traffic issues, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Shashikant Satav has announced new traffic regulations that will be in effect from 6:00 am on September 7 to 7:00 am on September 8, 2024.

The narrow Chitar Oli road, which sees high traffic between Bhandkas Chowk and Bhavsar Chowk, has been prone to minor accidents and jams. To ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce inconvenience, the following measures have been implemented:

Key Traffic Regulations:

  1. One-Way Traffic: Traffic will be permitted only in the direction from Bhandkas Chowk to Bhavsar Chowk via Chitar Oli. The reverse route, from Bhavsar Chowk to Bhandkas Chowk via Chitar Oli, will be closed for the duration.

  2. Diversions: Vehicles travelling from Bhavsar Chowk to Bhandkas Chowk via Chitar Oli will be diverted through Bhavsar Chowk to Gandhi Statue Square, and towards Bhandkas Chowk.

  3. Closures: The road between Bhandkas Chowk and Shahid Chowk will be closed, as well as the route from Shahid Chowk to Bhandkas Chowk at Gandhi Statue Square. Traffic from Bhandkas Chowk will be redirected via Chitnis Park towards Agrasen Chowk, while vehicles from Shahid Chowk will be directed to Darodkar Chowk.

  4. Additional Control: Traffic officials will have the authority to implement further diversions as needed based on real-time conditions.

These traffic arrangements are designed to ease congestion and ensure efficient vehicle flow during the bustling festival period. Residents are urged to adhere to the new regulations to avoid any disruptions.
