Nagpur Mahal Violence: Accused Allegedly Misbehaved With Women Police

Nagpur, India: After the recent violence in Nagpur, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has asked the police to protect women and keep sensitive areas safe. BJP leaders met Police Commissioner Dr Ravinder Kumar Singal on Tuesday and gave a letter asking for stronger security and action against illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya immigrants.
BJP leader Ashwini Jichkar said that women in the affected areas are scared after the violence. She asked the police to take steps to protect women and the public, especially in unsafe areas.
City BJP president Bunty Kukde led the group and said that the party supports the police and wants peace in the city. The leaders were worried about a crowd of 2,000 people gathering in Bhaldarpura late at night and causing trouble. They asked the police to block key areas between Bhaldarpura and Mominpura, such as Seva Sadan, Geetanjali, and Nal Sahab Square, to prevent more violence.
Meanwhile, an FIR filed at Ganeshpeth Police Station has revealed shocking allegations of misconduct during the clashes. The report states that an accused person allegedly misbehaved with a woman police officer from the RCP squad. He reportedly touched her uniform and body inappropriately and made obscene gestures towards other women police personnel.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the identity of the accused or whether he has been arrested.
Many BJP leaders, including Dr Milind Mane, Sanjay Bhende, Upendra Kothkar, Rajesh Bagdi, Girish Deshmukh, Ram Ambulkar, Guddi Trivedi, Sanjay Bagale, and others, were part of the group.
The BJP leaders want the police to act quickly and make sure the city stays peaceful.
