Nagpur Man Arrested for Carrying a Knife in Public in Jaripatka
Nagpur, India: The Jaripatka Police have arrested a man for carrying a sharp weapon in public and threatening people near Nara Ghat. The incident took place on 29th January 2025 at around 6:30 PM.
A police patrol team spotted the man holding a knife and abusing passers-by. When he saw the police approaching, he tried to escape, but officers chased him down and arrested him. The suspect was identified as Avinash Laxman Raghase, 25, a resident of Mandwa Wasti, near Bhim Sena Slum in Jaripatka.
During the search, police recovered a steel knife worth ₹200 from him. Since he was found brandishing a dangerous weapon and violating legal restrictions, he was booked under Section 4 of the Arms Act and Section 135 of the Bombay Police Act.
The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigations are ongoing.
