In Nagpur, a government employee became the victim of a robbery and assault near Shatabdi Square on April 20. Police from the Crime Branch's unit-4 have arrested Yash Suresh Waghmare, a 23-year-old resident of Beltarodi, in connection with the incident.
The attack occurred as Vijay Sharma, who works at the Rama Nagar BSNL, was returning home from work. He was stopped by the assailants who then demanded money and attacked him, stealing ₹28,000.
Two other suspects involved in the robbery, 20-year-old Utkarsh Sanjay Narayane, known as Naru, from Jog Nagar, and 30-year-old Deepali Salunke, are still on the run.
The police were able to arrest Waghmare after learning about the incident. He has since confessed to committing the robbery with his accomplices.
