Nagpur Metro Stops Midway Due to Power Issue

On Friday, travelers on Nagpur Metro's Orange Line faced a problem when their trains stopped halfway to the station. This was caused by a malfunction in the overhead equipment (OHE), which supplies the electricity needed for the trains. Because the power went out, the trains couldn't move and were stuck on the tracks for about an hour.

Passengers on the train were confused and worried because they didn't know what was happening. There was a lack of information about the power outage. The problem occurred during peak travel time on both the UP and DN lines between Khapri and Automotive Square, causing a significant disruption.

This is the third time Nagpur Metro has experienced issues, but the first time passengers were directly affected. About a month ago, a similar OHE failure partially disrupted services. Around a year ago, a technical problem near Chhatrapati Nagar Square stopped an empty train.

After an hour, metro technicians fixed the fault, and services resumed on the UP Line between Khapri and Automotive Square. However, repairs on the DN Line continued, so only one route was operational for a while.

Even though the Orange Line is not very crowded, many passengers prefer using it, especially up to Kasturchand Park. A metro spokesperson said their main focus was to restore normal operations, and more information about the affected services would be provided later.
