Nagpur: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) toll-free grievance redressal helpline, ‘155304,’ at his Ramgiri residence on Friday. The initiative aims to streamline complaint resolution and enhance civic services for Nagpur residents.
The launch event saw the presence of NMC Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijeet Chaudhari, Additional Municipal Commissioner Anchal Goyal, and Superintending Engineer Shweta Banerjee. During the event, Dr. Chaudhari assured the Chief Minister that every complaint received via the helpline would be promptly forwarded to the respective department for resolution. Additionally, regular feedback will be collected from citizens to ensure accountability and efficiency.
A dedicated team has been stationed at the Shradhey Atal Bihari Vajpayee City Operation Centre, located within the NMC headquarters, to manage the helpline’s operations. The service will be available from 8 AM to 8 PM on weekdays and 10 AM to 8 PM on weekends, offering extended accessibility for residents.
New Efforts Amid Past Shortcomings
The introduction of the helpline comes as an addition to the existing ‘My Nagpur’ app and the grievance redressal portal, both launched to address public concerns. However, despite initial responsiveness, these platforms have struggled to resolve complaints effectively. Even directives from the NMC Commissioner failed to bring substantial improvement.
Municipal authorities have now urged citizens to utilize the new helpline for faster grievance redressal, expressing confidence that it will provide a more efficient resolution mechanism for urban issues.
