Nagpur Police Arrest Man for Allegedly Molesting Newborn Girl in Mankapur
Nagpur, India: Mankapur Police have arrested a 58-year-old man, Pradeep Govindrao Devkate, for the alleged molestation of a 2.5-year-old girl. The incident reportedly occurred between 2 PM and 4 PM on January 31, 2025, while the victim was playing in the courtyard outside her home.
According to sources, the allegations arose after the girl's father filed a complaint detailing the inappropriate behaviour directed at the minor. Responding promptly to the complaint, Mankapur Police registered a case under Section 74 of the BNS (Bihar and Nagpur State) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Authorities have confirmed that the accused has been taken into custody, and a thorough investigation is currently underway to uncover more details about the incident and to ensure justice for the victim.
