Nagpur Police Bust Sex Racket in Vishakha Apartment, Couple Arrested

Nagpur, India: A couple running a sex racket from a flat near Kharbi Chowk in Nagpur was caught by the police on Wednesday. A woman who had been forced into prostitution was rescued during the raid.

The couple, Govind Komal Bhargav and his wife Pooja alias Janhavi, were operating the racket from a flat in Vishakha Apartment under Nandanvan Police Station limits. They had previously stayed in the same building but had recently shifted to a new flat near Symbiosis College in Wathoda.

According to police, the couple lured the woman with promises of high earnings and later forced her into prostitution. They used their rented flat for carrying out the illegal activity. Based on a tip-off, the police raided the location and rescued the woman. Items worth ₹39,144 were seized from the spot.

A case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of senior police officers, and the raid was carried out by PI Kavita Isarkar and her team. Further investigation is underway.
