Nagpur Police Busted Illegal Ticket Sales for India vs England ODI Match
Nagpur, India: A man in Nagpur was arrested for illegally selling tickets for the India vs. England one-day cricket match, set for February 6, 2024. On the evening of January 4, 2025, police officers from Crime Branch Unit 5 received a tip-off and caught the suspect, Rahul Dashrath Mohadikar, who was selling the tickets in the Pagalkhana Chowk area of Nagpur.
During a search, police found six match tickets and a mobile phone on Mohadikar. The total value of the seized items was around ₹20,000.
The accused was selling the tickets for personal profit. A case has been registered against him at Mankapur Police Station under relevant laws, and he has been handed over to the police for further action.
The operation was carried out with guidance from top officials, including Police Commissioner Nisar Tamboli and Senior Police Commissioner Ravi Kumar Singh. The investigation is ongoing to find anyone else involved in the scam.
