Nagpur Police Busted Sex Racket at Bitz Unisex Salon; 2 Women Rescued

Nagpur, India: The Social Security Branch of the Nagpur Crime Branch raided Bitz Unisex Salon in Byramji Town, Gondwana Chowk, on January 17, 2025, uncovering a sex racket being run under the guise of a massage parlour.

The raid, conducted in an area near Sadar Police Station, led to the arrest of the accused, Bhavesh Udaysing Gedam (29), a resident of Shashikant Housing Society in Gittikhadan. Gedam was allegedly luring women with promises of high earnings and forcing them into the flesh market. Two women were rescued during the operation, and cash amounting to ₹39,610 was seized.

A case has been registered against Gedam under Section 143(3) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 4, 5, and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.

The raid was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravinder Singhal, Joint Commissioner of Police Nisar Tamboli, and Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sanjay Patil. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rahul Makinikar supervised the operation, which was led by Police Inspector Kavita Isarkar, along with officers Shivaji Nanaware, Ajay Paunikar, and Kunal Masram.

Investigation is underway.
