Nagpur Police Charged Car Thieves, Recover Stolen Vehicles
Nagpur, August 7, 2024 – Nagpur police made significant progress in their fight against vehicle theft on July 28-29, 2024. In an operation held from 10:00 PM on July 28 to 5:00 AM on July 29, police responded to a theft report at Wathoda Police Station.
Firyadi Ajay Dashrath Nimje, a resident of Vaishnavi Devi Nagar, reported that his Honda Activa scooter, valued at ₹25,000, was stolen from outside his home. Acting on this complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation.
Officers from the Criminal Investigation Unit No. 3 received reliable information and set up a trap, leading to the arrest of Faiyaz Mohammad Ejaz Ansari, 22, from Gangabagh, Pardi. During questioning, Ansari admitted to the theft and revealed that he had stolen vehicles along with three juvenile accomplices.
The police recovered two motorcycles and one Honda Activa scooter, collectively worth around ₹1,00,000, from the accused. The stolen items, along with Ansari and one juvenile, were handed over to Wathoda Police Station for further investigation. The other two juveniles were transferred to Umred Police Station.
The operation, guided by senior police officials including the Additional Police Commissioner (Detection) and the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), was conducted by a team of officers including Police Inspector Mukund Thakur and Constable Dashrath Mishra.
