Nagpur Police Constable Stable After Suicide Attempt, Says SP

Nagpur: A police constable posted at the official residence of Nagpur Rural Superintendent of Police (SP) Harssh Poddar attempted suicide on Saturday, January 18. The constable, Vishal Tumsare (50), from Jaitala, shot himself in the neck with his service weapon at around 5:45 AM in Vrindavan City, Jamtha.
Initial investigations suggest that financial troubles, particularly significant losses in the stock market, might have led Tumsare to take this drastic step.
Upon hearing the gunshot, fellow officers rushed to the scene and found Tumsare critically injured. SP Harssh Poddar swiftly coordinated his transfer to AIIMS Hospital in MIHAN, where he was admitted to the ICU.
As of Tuesday, January 21, doctors confirmed that Tumsare is stable and recovering, according to SP Poddar.
