Nagpur Police Crack Down on Illegal Liquor Sales at Hotels and Dhabas

Nagpur, India: In a late-night operation on September 30, 2024, the Nagpur Police, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone 4, took decisive action against several establishments involved in the illegal sale of liquor and providing spaces for customers to drink on their premises.

Based on verified intelligence received at around 12:15 AM, a special team raided multiple locations under the jurisdiction of Hudkeshwar Police Station. The raids targeted three well-known spots along the Outer Ring Road:

  1. The Next World Family Restaurant
  2. Laddoo's Dhaba
  3. The Legend Restaurant

During the raids, the owners of these establishments were caught red-handed selling liquor illegally and allowing customers to consume alcohol on-site without proper licenses.

Additionally, the investigation team from Nandanvan Police Station, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid at Samadhan Family Garden Restaurant in Beltarodi, which also falls along the Outer Ring Road. Similar illegal activities were found, with the restaurant owner facilitating liquor sales and consumption on the premises.

Cases have been registered against the accused under Section 68 of the Maharashtra Police Act in the respective police stations, and further legal action is underway.

The police are continuing their efforts to curb illegal liquor sales in the city and ensure that public safety is upheld, particularly during the festive season.
