Nagpur Police Detain Notorious Gangster to Ensure Public Safety
Nagpur: The Nagpur Police have taken action against a well-known gangster, Mohammad Shahbaz, who is 30 years old, by placing him in jail to prevent further criminal activities. This decision was made by the Police Commissioner on October 17, 2024, under a law aimed at keeping dangerous individuals away from society.
Shahbaz has been involved in serious crimes like illegal liquor sales, drug offences, video piracy, and sand smuggling. He was arrested in the areas covered by the Tehsil and Kotwali Police Stations in Nagpur. Following the order, he is now held at the Nagpur Central Jail.
Earlier this year, Shahbaz faced serious charges, including attempted murder and robbery. Despite being warned by the police, he continued to commit crimes. Recently, his actions raised concerns for public safety, prompting police to take stronger measures.
To protect the community, the Senior Police Inspector suggested that Shahbaz be detained. The Police Commissioner agreed and ordered his transfer to Nashik Central Jail.
This step shows the police's commitment to keeping Nagpur safe from crime.
