Nagpur Police File Case After Pickup Truck Causes Deadly Crash
Nagpur, India- On July 29, 2024, around 7:30 PM, Gaurav Dadarav Kadu, aged 22, a resident of Corporation School, Jayatala, Nagpur, along with his friend Pranay Anil Lokhande, aged 21, from Easanani, near Anand Buddha Vihar, Nagpur, were riding on a Splendor bike, registration number MH 31 FW 3655. Gaurav was riding a bike, and they were on their way from Bhimnagar to Kharde Hospital, IC Square, to visit a patient.
In the M.I.D.C. police jurisdiction, near Hingna Road, IC Square, opposite Paragon Footwear, a speeding and negligent driver of a white Mahindra Bolero pickup truck hit their motorcycle from behind. The collision resulted in both Gaurav and Pranay sustaining serious injuries. The driver of the Bolero fled the scene. The injured were taken to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared Pranay Lokhande deceased.
Based on Gaurav's complaint, a case has been registered at M.I.D.C. Police Station by Assistant Police Inspector Aravelli against the unknown Bolero driver under Sections 106(1), 125(a), 281 of the Indian Penal Code, along with Sections 134, 184, and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act. The investigation is ongoing.
