Nagpur Police Launches Cyber Hack 2025 Hackathon to Combat Cyber Crime

Nagpur, India: The Nagpur Police Commissionerate has initiated Cyber Hack 2025, a hackathon designed to address the rising threat of cybercrime. The event was inaugurated on Friday at the Control and Command Centre, with dignitaries from the police, business, and educational sectors in attendance.

Scheduled from February 7 to 9, 2025, at IIM Nagpur, the competition invites IT professionals, students, and cybersecurity experts to tackle real-life challenges related to cybercrime. Participants will develop creative and practical solutions aimed at preventing cyber fraud.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top performers:

  • ₹1 lakh for first place
  • ₹75,000 for second place
  • ₹50,000 for third place

Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Singal urged young IT professionals and cyber experts to combat cyber threats. He also encouraged educational institutions and IT companies to join hands in making this initiative a success.

The event is organized by the Nagpur Police Commissionerate, in partnership with the Association for Industrial Development (AID), IIM Nagpur, and other local organizations. The event is spearheaded by Lohit Matani, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cyber), Nagpur City.

Prominent attendees included Joint CP Nisar Tamboli, Addl CPs Sanjay Patil, Pramod Shewale, Shivaji Rathod, and industrialists such as Dr. Vijay Sharma, Ajay Kapur, Vinod Tambi, and others.
