Nagpur Police Raids Shoe Park in Ambazari; Seized Rs 22 Lakh of Fake Nike, Jordan, and Vans Products

Nagpur, India: Ambazari Police arrested two individuals for selling counterfeit goods bearing popular brand trademarks, including Nike, Jordan, Ralph Polo, Vans, and Canvas. The raid, which resulted in the seizure of counterfeit goods worth Rs 22 lakh, took place at Shoe Park in the NIT Complex near the NIT Swimming Pool.

The raid followed a complaint from Mahesh Vishnu Kamble (41), a New Delhi resident, who holds ownership rights to the brands. Kamble reported that counterfeit shoes, T-shirts, and pants with his company's trademarks were being sold at the store.

Acting on the information, the Crime Branch conducted the operation and arrested Mohammad Afif Mohammad Arif Sheikh (22) from Teachers Colony, Thakur Plot, Bada Tajbagh, and Nayan Devrao Chapade (25) from Verma Layout, Ambazari. During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused had been illegally selling fake branded products.

The police seized counterfeit items valued at Rs 21,09,750, which included shoes, T-shirts, and pants. A case has been filed against the accused under Sections 51, 63, and 65 of the Copyright Act, as well as Sections 103 and 104 of the Trademark Act.
