Nagpur Police Register Case After Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident in Ganeshpeth
Nagpur, India: In a tragic hit-and-run incident, Ganeshpeth Police have registered a case against an unknown motorcyclist for causing the death of a young pedestrian. The accident occurred on the night of November 10, 2024, around 9:00 pm, near the Ram Mandir area on Ramjhula Road in Nagpur.
The victim, identified as 20-year-old Ganeshkumar Mahadev Mandal from Kisnippatti, Bihar, was walking along the road when he was struck by a speeding motorcycle. Eyewitnesses reported that the motorcyclist was driving recklessly and fled the scene immediately after the collision, leaving Ganeshkumar severely injured.
Residents quickly transported the injured man to Mayo Hospital, and he was later moved to the Trauma Center at Medical Hospital for further treatment. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save him, doctors declared Ganeshkumar dead on November 13, 2024.
Following a complaint from the victim's father, Mahadev Ramsevak Mandal, the Ganeshpeth Police have filed charges under sections 279, 304A, 134, and 177 of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation is ongoing as police work to identify the motorcyclist responsible for the fatal accident.
