Nagpur Police Rescue Five Bovines, Seize Vehicle in Slaughterhouse Case
Nagpur, India- In a swift operation on Tuesday night, the Old Kamptee police rescued five bovines that were being transported to a slaughterhouse and seized a Tata Yodha pick-up van valued at Rs 5.25 lakh.
The rescue operation began after police received a tip-off around 10 p.m. During a night patrol, officers set up a trap near Chaudhary Majid and intercepted the pick-up van with registration number MH/28/BB/4998. The bovines were successfully rescued from the vehicle.
The accused, Zubair Khan, 28, a resident of Juna Bhoipura, was arrested in connection with the case. He faces charges under Sections 5(B) and 9(A) of the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1995, as well as Section 11(1)(D) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
