Nagpur Police Seize ₹2.5 Lakh in Betting Materials During India vs. England Match
Nagpur, India: Nagpur Police carried out a raid on an illegal betting ring during the India vs. England One Day International (ODI) cricket match on Thursday, February 6. The operation was conducted under the Maharashtra Gambling Act in the Beltarodi Police Station area.
Three people were arrested: Akash Mahesh Hinduja (30) from Raipur, Chhattisgarh; Narayan Kumar Nandkishore Gound (22) from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh; and Abid Sheikh Akalim Sheikh (21) from Ambazari, Nagpur.
Police seized items worth ₹2,51,300, including two laptops, broadband equipment, nine mobile phones, chargers, and a calculator, all used for betting. The accused were caught while placing bets on the cricket match for money.
The seized items were taken into custody, and the accused were handed over to Beltarodi Police Station for further investigation.
