Nagpur Police Solve Two Burglaries, Recover ₹47,000 Worth of Stolen Items
Imamwada police have arrested a man involved in a house burglary and solved two theft cases. The burglary occurred between 10:30 PM on September 14 and 2:20 AM on September 15 at a house in Imamwada, Nagpur. The homeowner, 60-year-old Sheshrao Balkunde, had locked his house and gone to attend a relative’s funeral with his family. During this time, thieves broke the door lock and stole gold jewellery and ₹8,000 in cash, amounting to a total loss of ₹26,000.
Acting quickly, the police reviewed CCTV footage and identified the main suspect, Piyush alias Bhanja Raju Shahu, 20, from Chandan Nagar, Nagpur. He was caught along with a juvenile accomplice. The police recovered a stolen Activa scooter, ₹400 in cash, and some gold jewellery, bringing the total recovered value to ₹47,400.
Piyush has been arrested, and the juvenile has been sent to a correctional facility. The police have solved two cases as part of this investigation. The operation was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Rashmita Rao and a team of senior officers.
