Nagpur Police Take Action Against 20 Hotels Using Fake OYO Branding

Nagpur Police, along with OYO, have taken action against 20 hotels that were illegally using OYO’s name and logo.
On Wednesday, a team removed fake OYO signboards from these hotels, most of which were in the Manish Nagar area. This came after OYO filed a police complaint against hotels misusing its branding without permission.
Police have said they will continue to take action against more such hotels in the coming weeks. This is part of OYO’s ongoing effort to stop businesses from falsely claiming to be part of its network.
Similar action was recently taken in Ghaziabad, and OYO is working with police in other cities, including Noida, Faridabad, and Hyderabad, to expand the crackdown.
OYO had earlier sent legal notices to these hotels, warning them to remove its branding. During the recent operation, police visited the properties and warned hotel owners about the legal consequences of using OYO’s name without approval.
OYO’s compliance team is working closely with the police to find and act against more such hotels.
Varun Jain, Chief Operating Officer of OYO India, said, “These unauthorised hotels mislead customers with false advertisements and poor services, causing trouble for travellers.”
With this crackdown, OYO and the police aim to protect customers and ensure hotels operate legally.
