Nagpur, India: Nagpur experienced its chilliest morning of the season on Tuesday as the minimum temperature dropped to 13.5°C. The city woke up to windy, cold conditions that persisted until 11 AM, making it the coldest day so far this winter.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) explained that the temperature drop is due to northerly winds carrying cold air from the Himalayan region. These winds have caused a steady decline in temperatures across Northern India, which is now affecting central regions like Nagpur.

According to the IMD, the city can expect partly cloudy skies to maintain minimum temperatures between 13°C and 15°C for the rest of November. However, private weather services suggest temperatures could fall to around 11°C by Friday.

Experts predict that the minimum temperature will stay above 10°C in the first half of December, but single-digit temperatures are likely during the last week of December and the first week of January.

On Tuesday, Nagpur’s maximum temperature reached 30.4°C, with residents feeling the winter chill throughout the day. Gondia recorded the lowest minimum temperature in Vidarbha at 13.2°C, while Akola and Buldhana reported the highest minimum at 15.4°C.

The highest daytime temperature in Vidarbha was recorded in Bramhapuri at 32.2°C, making it the hottest spot in the region. Meanwhile, Gondia experienced the coolest maximum temperature at 29.2°C, followed by Buldhana at 29.6°C.

Other cities in Vidarbha, such as Amravati, Bramhapuri, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Wardha, recorded minimum temperatures above 14°C. Despite the cold mornings, daytime temperatures in cities like Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Wardha exceeded 30°C, showcasing the region’s contrasting weather patterns.
