Nagpur Residents Face Traffic Woes Due to Encroachment on Ajni Railway Over Bridge Road
Residents of Nagpur city are facing issues with road diversions on the Ajni Railway Over Bridge (RoB) to Chunabhatti road. Fruit and vegetable vendors have encroached upon the footpaths and even fitted nails on the streets, causing congestion and reducing space for vehicular movement. Despite the presence of traffic police, no action has been taken against the encroachers, leading to traffic jams and inconvenience for commuters.
A resident has complained about the lack of action from the authorities. He questioned whether the Nagpur Municipal Corporation's Dhantoli Zone is aware of the encroachment, as the patrolling team of Dhantoli police station passes through the area. A retired police official also highlighted the inconvenience caused to commuters and emphasized the need for swift action from the NMC and police to clear the footpaths of encroachers and ensure smooth traffic flow. The traffic movement from Rahate Colony Square to Kriplani I-point was diverted to the Ajni RoB road, resulting in a high number of vehicles congesting the Ajni RoB square. The encroachment by fruit and vegetable vendors on the footpaths has further aggravated the traffic situation, as customers stopping their vehicles for shopping adds to the congestion.
The situation calls for immediate action from the authorities, including the Nagpur Municipal Corporation and the police, to address the encroachment issue. Swift clearance of the footpaths from encroachers is necessary to ensure smooth traffic flow and pedestrian movement on the Ajni Railway Over Bridge road. Residents are urging the authorities to take appropriate measures to resolve the problem and alleviate the inconvenience faced by commuters in Nagpur city.
