Nagpur Set to Host 'Orange Olympics School' Championship from Nov 23
Khelo Nagpur, in collaboration with RTM Nagpur University, is set to organize the 'Orange Olympics School' championship featuring athletics, badminton, and table tennis from November 23 to 26 at the RTM Nagpur University ground.
Divya Chawla and Ketan Kaore, addressing the media, announced that table tennis events will cater to Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19 boys and girls. Badminton competitions will include U-13, U-15, U-18, and U-19 categories for singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
In athletics, track events like 100m, 200m, 400m, 1500m, and 4x100m relay will be held for U-12, U-14, U-16, and U-18 boys and girls. Dr. Sharad Suryawanshi, the Director of Sports and Physical Education at RTMNU, expressed that the event would promote competitive sports and benefit the city.
The championship, under the guidance of senior vice president of Maharashtra Badminton Association Mangesh Kashikar, secretary of Maharashtra State Table Tennis Association Adv. Ashutosh Potnis, and NDAA president Gurudeo Nagrale, will see the participation of over 700 students from 70 schools in Nagpur.
The inaugural function on November 23 at 9.30 am will be graced by the Vice-Chancellor of RTM Nagpur University Dr. Subhash Chaudhary and international shuttler Ritika Thaker. Medals will be awarded to the top three winners in each category, and all participants will receive a T-shirt and a certificate of participation.
