Nagpur to Host District Chess Championship for U-11 & U-15 on April 14

Nagpur, India: The Chess Association Nagpur, in collaboration with G.H. Raisoni Sports and Cultural Foundation, MKH Sancheti Group, and Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation, will organise the Nagpur District Open Under-11 and Under-15 Boys and Girls Selection Chess Championship 2025 on April 14.
The tournament will take place at Vivekanand Hall, Shraddha House, Kingsway, near Kasturchand Park. The top two players from the Under-11 category and the top four from the Under-15 category, in both boys and girls sections, will be selected to represent Nagpur district in the Maharashtra State Open and Women’s Chess Championship 2025.
The event will be held in a rapid format with each player getting 15 minutes and an increment of 5 seconds per move. The first round will begin at 9:30 am.
A total of ₹20,000 in cash prizes, sponsored by MKH Sancheti Group, will be distributed. Amit Yenurkar, Director of the group, expressed his support for the promotion of chess in the district.
The entry fees of the selected players for the state-level event will be reimbursed by the Chess Association Nagpur. Apart from the selected players, only participants of this official selection tournament will be recommended for donor entries in the state championship.
