Nagpur Woman Arrested for Stealing ₹2.80 Lakh Gold Bangle from Tanishq Showroom

Nagpur, India: Sadar Police in Nagpur apprehended a woman accused of stealing a gold bangle worth ₹2.80 lakh from the Tanishq showroom on November 26. The woman, who had been undergoing mental health treatment, entered the showroom around 5:30 p.m. and spent nearly 30 minutes browsing jewelry. During this time, she discreetly stole the bangle without arousing suspicion.
The theft was discovered during a stock check at closing time. Upon reviewing CCTV footage from over 80 cameras, the showroom staff confirmed the theft. A complaint was filed by showroom manager Rita Pinto at the Sadar Police Station.
Led by Police Inspector Manish Thakare, the investigation team, including PSI Nilesh Ghogre and other personnel, traced the accused from Sadar to Lakadganj. The stolen bangle was recovered, and the woman was arrested for the crime.
