Nagpur Youth Among Nine Killed in Tragic Maihar Bus Accident
Nagpur, India: Nine people, including a youth from Nagpur, were killed, and over 24 others were injured when a speeding bus crashed into a stationary truck in the Maihar area of Madhya Pradesh. The incident took place late Saturday night. Among the deceased are Ganesh Ajaykumar Sahu (25) from Nagpur, Lallu Ramavatar Yadav (60) from Pratapgarh, and several others. Two injured passengers from Nagpur are currently receiving treatment at hospitals in Maihar, Amarpatan, and Satna.
The Abha Travels bus (UP-72/AT-4952) was en route from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, to Nagpur with 45 passengers when it collided with a parked truck (CG04/NB-6786). The impact of the collision led to nine fatalities and multiple injuries.
Upon receiving the distress call, Maihar Police arrived at the scene and used JCB machines and gas cutters to rescue passengers trapped inside the bus. The injured were quickly rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. The police have registered a case against the bus driver, and further investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
