Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Expressway to Be Fully Operational by February

Nagpur, India: The Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Expressway will be completed by February, connecting Nagpur to Mumbai. The final phase, from Igatpuri to Mumbai, will open soon, cutting the travel time between the two cities from 16 hours to just 8 hours.

The 701-kilometer stretch from Nagpur to Igatpuri is already open. The remaining part, a six-lane road from Igatpuri to Mumbai, will be ready in February. Designed for speeds up to 150 km/h, it includes 65 flyovers, 6 tunnels, and 24 interchanges.

The expressway connects 10 districts directly and 14 indirectly. It is expected to boost industries, create jobs, and improve travel convenience. In two years, it has earned ₹1,100 crore in tolls from 1.5 crore vehicles.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Prime Minister Narendra Modi played key roles in this project. Dr. Anilkumar Gaikwad, known for his expertise, is leading the final construction phase.

The expressway is already benefiting travellers. For example, Nagpur to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar now takes just 4 hours. Once fully operational, it will save time, improve business opportunities, and transform travel across Maharashtra.
